Michele Bachmann, one of the frontrunners for the Republican presidential nomination, has signed a publishing deal with Sentinel, an imprint of Penguin USA. Her memoir, currently untitled, will hit stores in November.
It’s almost de rigour these days for presidential candidates to have published several books. Most of Bachmann’s rivals for the Republican nomination have some kind of publishing history, and Bachmann’s book will undoubtedly help to raise her profile as the campaign heads into the Christmas holiday period.
The book will reportedly feature stories from Bachmann’s life before and after entering politics, including her time as a foster parent. Supporters and critics alike are expected to comb through the book looking for anything that can be used to praise or attack Bachmann, who has surprised many by becoming a genuine contender – along with Mitt Romney and Rick Perry – for the Republican nomination.
