Michele Bachmann‘s entrance on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show this week was accompanied by a little-known but distinctive piece of music. And some critics are aghast that the band allegedly played a snippet from 1985 Fishbone song ‘Lyin’ Ass Bitch’.
Bachmann seemed not to notice the apparent snark, and there seemed to be no reaction from the studio audience. But enough people cottoned on at home to have news spreading quickly online. Bandleader Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson of The Roots tweeted a hint at the plan in advance, and host Jimmy Fallon has since tweeted that Thompson is ‘grounded’.
For some, though, the issue is not about politics but about sheer class and professionalism. Others have applauded the bands apparent decision. So far, there has been no official comment from Bachmann’s team.
