Norma McCorvey, aka Jane Roe, makes acting debut in abortion film Doonby

In the 1973 court case Roe vs Wade, Norma McCorvey (aka Jane Roe) made American history by helping to overturn the rights of individual states to ban abortions. Since then, McCorvey has converted to Catholicism and is a pro-life campaigner. And now she’s going to become an actor.

McCorvey has a small cameo role in the upcoming film Doonby, directed by Peter Mackenzie. The film is a psychological thriller about a woman in 1960’s America who decides to terminate her pregnancy. McCorvey will play a character named Nancy Thurber, who will give advice to the main character.

Others in the film include Joe Estevez, Ernie Hudson and Joe Schneider. Although Doonby doesn’t have a distributor at the moment, it is scheduled for a September release and is expected to be picked up shortly.
