London riots update: Wolverhampton trouble, but Manchester & Brighton calm #londonriots

There has reportedly been some disorder in Wolverhampton this evening, but reports of violent scenes in Salford, Manchester and Brighton are apparently untrue.

In London, there is a very strong police presence and sirens are regularly being heard. There are reports of small disturbances in Croydon, and there was reportedly a small fire in Camberwell earlier, but overall the situation is relatively calm and things don’t so far seem to be as bad as last night at this stage.

Police in Islington are appealing for people to stay at home, and shopkeepers in a number of areas of London have been shutting up early. Hammersmith and Fulham Council has urged people to keep calm, in the wake of rumours that their region of London might be targeted tonight.

  2. Manchester is currently the scene of some of the most violent riots. Salford has had some action but is not too bad. Brighton is currently unharmed.

  3. I can confirm that brighton is it’s normal chilled out self and I just spoke to a cop who was buying coffee and snacks at the 24hr petrol station and he also confirmed that nothing had happened. If people in other places want to destroy their own neighbourhoods and make them a worse place to go, devalue the area, drive families and businesses away and turn it into a slum then so be it, they’re the ones who’ll be living in it and no one will be listening when you complain about it because it’ll be your own fault!
