A possible breakthrough has been made in the hunt for missing Missouri baby Lisa Irwin, with the discovery in an abandoned house of diapers, baby wipes and a backpack. Diapers were also found in a nearby wooded area, and at least one of the diapers was soiled.
Police are being careful not to say that the discovery is definitely linked to Lisa Irwin’s disapperance. The items are said to have been at the house for some time, though whether that means more than a week or more than a month is not clear. And others have pointed out that finding such things in abandoned houses is not completely unusual.
Nevertheless, the discovery seems to be the first strong lead in the case for some time. The 10-month-old has been missing for nearly two weeks now, having vanished on October 4th. Her father came home to find that she had apparently been kidnapped during the night.
