Ta’Von McLaurin allegedly accused over Caitlyn Abercrombie Cape Fear school shooting

Ta’Von McLaurin and another teenager have allegedly been accused over the shooting of a 15-year-old girl at a school in North Carolina. Caitlyn Abercrombie was shot in the neck while eating lunch. She was rushed to hospital and is said to be recovering in a stable condition after surgery.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting aren’t entirely clear, but it’s believed that Abercrombie was not the intended victim. She was eating lunch when a loud pop was heard. No eye-witnesses reported seeing a gun, but CCTV surveillance footage from the cafeteria at Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville was scoured for clues.

The school was placed on lockdown immediately after the shooting. There are no reports of any trouble prior to the shooting. While some locals speculated that gangs might be involved in the incident, police have been quick to rule out that possibility.
