Caitlyn Abercrombie requires another operation after North Carolina school shooting

Caitlyn Abercrombie, the 15-year-old girl shot in the neck at a North Carolina school, is still in a critical condition on a ventilator and must undergo another operation in the next week.

It’s still believed that Abercrombie was not the intended target. She was shot as she ate lunch at Cape Fear High School, Fayetteville, just over a week ago. A student, Ta’Von McLaurin, has allegedly been accused of involvement in the shooting, as has another – unnamed – student.

It’s still not clear what caused the shooting, which occurred in a crowded lunch room. CCTV footage was reportedly used to analyse what happened and to identify possible suspects.
