The first full trailer for Grand Theft Auto V is out and it looks like Rockstar is planning a full-on Hollywood satire. The trailer also suggests there will be more social commentary, comparing the glitz of ‘Vineland’ to the groups of homeless people gathered beneath the city’s bridges.
To call GTA V one of the most hotly anticipated video games of all time would be something of an understatement. The trailer has caused feverish speculation of the type usually reserved for only the biggest movies. And with proper plot lines and clear themes, the GTA series probably has more thought behind it than most ‘proper’ movies.
The scale of the game looks to be vast, and the graphics are stunning. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big video game fan, but even I’m tempted by this one. I particularly like the idea of being able to stray from the conventional narrative and just explore the city. GTA V looks set to deliver more of that and then some.
