Google’s Do a Barrel Roll trick turns heads

Google has set up a little trick for users who type ‘Do a barrel role’ into the main search engine. Give it a try, and you’ll see that the page literally does a barrel role of its own.

The trick actually works as soon as you type ‘Do a b…’ and the effect seems different based on how far into the word ‘barrel’ you get. Typically, most of the top results are reference to the trick itself.

Google is becoming increasingly known for its somewhat whimsical approach to certain search results. Earlier this year, the company ran a font-based April Fools Day trick, while its regular Google doodles are becoming something of a tradition.
