Wyatt Knight, best known as Tommy Turner in teen comedy Porky’s and its two sequels, has died at the age of 56. His body was found in Maui, Hawaii, near a home where he had been visiting. Autopsy results have not yet been revealed, but suicide is reportedly suspected by police.
After coming to fame in the original Porky’s film in 1982, Wyatt was a regular face on US television. He made guest appearances in shows such as T.J. Hooker, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Pacific Blue. But it was for the role of Tommy Turner in Porky’s that he remained best known, and he reprised that role in 1983’s Porky’s II: The Next Day and 1985’s Porky’s 3: Revenge.
In 2003, Wyatt was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and underwent a bone marrow transplant. Years of treatment, including radiations therapy, slowed his acting career and reportedly left him in pain in his final years.
