Abilene Christian University student Anabel Reid killed in Texas bus crash, 15 injured

An Abilene Christian University student was killed in a bus crash on Friday, in which fifteen others were injured. Anabel Reid, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene on the U.S. 83 near the town of Ballinger, 50 miles from Abilene.

The bus was carrying students and staff from Abilene to Medina, where they were going to spend the weekend doing work at a children’s home. For reasons that are as yet unknown, the bus reportedly hit a concrete culvert and did a complete roll, with several passengers being ejected from the vehicle.

Four others are said to be in a critical condition. Anabel Reid was an agricultural studies student. Hundreds of students gathered for a prayer vigil on Friday night to remember her, and to pray for the injured. The ACU Emergency Updates page has a list of passeners and updates about the accident.
