Another army vet has been injured at Occupy Oakland. Kayvan Sabeghi, a former US Army Ranger, is now in intensive care at Highland General Hospital. Protesters allege that he was injured by police.
Campaign group Veterans Against the War alleges that Kayvan Sabeghi’s injuries include a lacerated spleen and internal bleeding, and that he was beaten on his hands, shoulders, ribs and back using nightsticks. He was injured as Occupy Oakland continued to be one of the most tense of the Occupy protests across the country.
Scott Olsen, an army vet who was injured last week, remains in hospital with serious injuries. His name has become something of a rallying point for Occupy Oaklan protesters, who allege that police tactics are disproportionate to their peaceful protest.
