Nigerian comic actor and Nollywood star Babatunde Omidina, aka Baba Suwe, freed after 25 bowel movements

A popular Nigerian comic actor suspected of ingesting drugs to smuggle to Europe has been freed in his home country after officials carefully monitored 25 bowel movements and found nothing suspicious. Babatunde Omidina, aka Baba Suwe, was released after it was accepted that there had been a mix-up.

Nigerian media sources covered the case earnestly, reporting the latest news from Omidina’s toilet visits. Never before have the contents of one man’s bowels been so keenly followed. All the allegations against Omidina have now been dropped, with authorities accepting that they had been wrong to suspect him.

Babatunde Omidina is one of the most popular comic actors in Nigeria’s film industry, which is dubbed Nollywood. Although little-seen in the west, Nollywood is a prolific film-making industry, producing more films per year than any other nation other than India and the United States. Many of these films are direct-to-video, sold in markets around the country.
