Three earthquakes hit central Oklahoma overnight

Central Oklahoma has been shaken by three earthquakes overnight, with people as far as Kansas and Missouri reporting that they felt the tremors. There are no reports of injuries or structural damage, but some people have said that items fell from their walls.

The earthquakes were centred about six miles north of Prague in southern Lincoln County. At 2:12am, a 4.7M earthquake struck followed 15 minutes later by a 3.4M aftershock. About 15 minutes after that, there was a third, 2.7M jolt.

The US Geological Survey says that the initial earthquake struct at a depth of approximately 3 miles. The earthquake is believed to be one of the most notable quakes in Oklahoma for many years.
