A third woman has died following the New York river helicopter crash that took place in early October. English tourist Harriet Nicholson, 60, died from respiratory complications, and her death means that of the five people onboard the helicopter when it crashed, only her husband Paul Nicholson and the pilot Paul Dudley, have survived.
Sonia Marra, the daughter of Harriet Nicholson, was killed after getting stuck in the helicopter as it sank. Another woman, Helen Tamaki, died a few weeks later. The helicopter sank shortly after it landed in the water after it reportedly experienced some form of problem shortly after take-off.
The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. The remains of the helicopter are reportedly being examined in an attempt to determine whether there could have been any kind of technical problem.
