An 84-year-old woman has become something of a poster child for the Occupy movement after she was allegedly pepper-sprayed at Occupy Seattle. Dorli Rainey was one of a number of people who were hit by pepper spray during a march. Another was a pregnant woman.
Dorli Rainey, who is a little under 5ft tall, is allegedly a long-time campaigner who happened to head down to check out the protest while she was going to a transportation meeting. She has since been quoted as saying that the whole event certainly left an impression on her.
There has been growing concern in recent days about the force being used by police against Occupy protesters. It was reported the other day that poet Geoffrey O’Brien was beaten by police at Occupy Berkeley.
