Police re-open Natalie Wood death investigation, 30 years after star drowned

LA police are re-opening their investigation into the death of Hollywood star Natalie Wood, who drowned in 1981. They say they have received new information, and that more will be revealed at a press conference.

Natalie Wood died on November 29th 1981. She drowned after allegedly drinking while on a yacht with her husband Robert Wagner and friend Christopher Walken. Her death was ruled to have been an accident, since it was determined that the 43-year-old had been drinking.

It’s not clear what new information police believe they have, although TMZ suggests that a recent book about Wood might have triggered the decision. Neither Wagner nor Walken have commented on the latest development. In a biography of Wood, the star’s sister firmly put the death down to the amount of alcohol Wood had consumed.
