The plane crash that killed OSU basketball coaches Kurt Budke and Miranda Serna, along with former Oklahoma state senator Olin Branstetter and his wife, was not caused by poor weather, according to National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigators.
The four died when the plane crashed into a wooded hillside on Thursday. NTSB investigators say that the weather was calm and likely not a contributory factor to the crash. And so far, there are no signs of any distress calls having been made from the plane.
The full report could take up to a year, but a preliminary report is expected before the end of November. It’s still unclear what caused the accident, which caused shock at OSU, which previously lost a number of basketball players in a 2001 plane crash in Colorado.
