Bolivian radio host Leopoldo Ibarra stabbed after threats

A popular Bolivian radio host has been stabbed. Leopoldo Ibarra had reportedly received threats after making negative comments about a merchants association.

Leopoldo Ibarra has told local media that his daughter was also assaulted in the stabbing incident in El Alto, close to the capital, La Paz. Ibarra had reportedly just called a taxi to head off to work when the attack happened.

The host of a popular show called Press Freedom on Radio Gente, Ibarra had apparently denounced a merchants association. It’s not clear whether that denunciation was linked to the attack in which he was stabbed.
