2012 Presidential Campaign

Donald Trump releases finances, hints at 2012 presidential bid

Donald Trump has released the financial records he says he prepared back when he was considering a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, and he says he could still decide to run if he’s not impressed with the eventual GOP candidate.

Donald Trump’s flirtation with a serious political career was one of the more entertaining parts of the political summer, even if few people truly believed he would go through with a full run. He seems to be keeping the dream alive, though, and Trump is probably one of the few in America who would have a decent shot at financing his own campaign.

In the financial disclosure, released as part of his new book, Trump is said to be worth around $7bn, around $3bn of which is ‘brand value’. He also reportedly has more than $200m ‘on hand’, which would certainly come in handy if he decided to run for the White House.
