Kenyan runner Marko Cheseto loses feet to frostbite

A popular Kenyan student athlete from the University of Alaska has lost his feet to frostbite. Marko Cheseto, 28, was reportedly found outside a hospital with hypothermia and extreme frostbite, two days after he had vanished.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Cheseto had been upset by the death of a friend. A two-time NCAA All-American runner, he has now thanked those who searched for him and says that he will be seeking to ‘give back’ to the community.

Cheseto is a nursing major at the university, and the athletics director has suggested that he could one day run again due to advances in medical technology.
