There’s a rumour going around online suggesting that a small number of people have suffered epileptic seizures, allegedly after seeing the ‘birth scene’ in the new Twilight film. Could it be true, or are people just really keen to get out of the theatre?
The scene in question involves flashes of red, white and black light, as Bella gives birth to her vampire sprog. The idea that flickering lights could trigger photosensitive epilepsy isn’t new – that’s why they call it photosensitive epilepsy! But some people are sceptical, saying that the scene in Twilight: Breaking Dawn is pretty mild.
The whole story actually seems to stem from one, maybe two, unconfirmed claims. And the internet has done the rest, adding layer upon layer to the story. So while you might want to be careful, it’s probably safe for the rest of us to go and see Twilight: Breaking Dawn. I’ve seen it. I didn’t have a fit. There you go…
