A Kansas City teenager is refusing to apologise about a tweet she sent regarding governor Sam Brownback. According to Emma Sullivan, any apology would be insincere since she’s not sorry, and she’s likely to miss Monday’s deadline to file her apology.
The high school senior saw Brownback in Topeka last week. She tweeted that she had told him he sucked in person, although apparently she didn’t actually do any such thing. Nevertheless, she was allegedly told by her school to apologise, which she now says she will not do.
This is a classic case of something completely innocuous being blown into a major issue by the very people who didn’t want it to happen in the first place. If nothing had been said about Sullivan’s tweet, no-one would have known about it. As things stand, she has gained thousands of new Twitter followers and her (non) comments about Sam Brownback have spread around the world.
