The ten bodies found on a stretch of Long Island beach earlier this year were all victims of the same serial killer, according to authorities. There had previously been suggestions that differences between the various victims indicated the work of two, unrelated killers.
It has been almost a year since the first set of remains were found on the beach, while police were hunting for a missing woman named Shannan Gilbert. Although Gilbert remains missing, police reportedly do not believe that she is connected to this case in any way.
The hunt for the Long Island serial killer therefore resumes with more questions than answers. Many of the victims are believed to have had backgrounds in the sex industry, but it’s still not clear who killed them, or why.
