A man has been found dead in a tent at the Occupy Denton site at the University of North Texas. The man, named by the group as Darwin Cox, is said to have been given shelter by the protesters after he was seen suffering with a suspected fever.
The body was reportedly discovered late on Saturday afternoon at the small but growing Occupy Denton site. The area was sealed off and the body was removed a few hours later. Protesters are waiting to learn when they will be able to return.
Occupy Denton activists have highlighted the need to provide shelter for homeless people. A vigil to remember Darwin Cox is expected to be held on Monday evening near the Physics and Art buildings at the UNT campus.
Why Denton? Why not? At least they are trying. The facts are that Wall Street, the banks and Washington’s legislators are responsible for our “recession”, bank bailouts and gambling tax payers dollars with fraudulent securities is enough to get anyone involved. Stop speculating he was on drugs. I suspect there were other predisposing factors and a medical history we are dealing with. He was a kid making a statement regarding our country’s corrupt financial system. And he died too young.
Thank you for thoughts he was a good and kind person , let please rest in peace
His Father Dennis Cox
