FBI reportedly planning to close file on DB Cooper

The FBI is reportedly planning to close the file on D.B. Cooper, forty years after the still-unidentified individual staged a daring mid-air escape following a hijacking incident. And it looks like Cooper’s real name might never be conclusively established.

Over the years, there have been numerous attempts to identify Cooper. Some people believe he died when he jumped (with a parachute) from the jet he’d hijacked, while others believe he landed safely, walked away and spent the rest of his life spending the money.

A woman named Marla Cooper recently claimed that her late uncle Lynn Doyle Cooper was the mysterious hijacker, but attempts to prove this via DNA have reportedly failed. The niece has been described as a ‘credible witness’ but it seems there’s little chance of the case ever being solved for sure.
