Tyler Brehm allegedly identified as Hollywood gunman

Police in Los Angeles have allegedly identified the gunman who shot at cars in Hollywood before being shot dead by officers, as 26-year-old Tyler Brehm. The suspect allegedly fired around twelve shots at passing cars on the corner of Sunset and Vince on Friday morning before being killed by a police team.

There is still no known motive for the shooting incident. No-one else was killed, although a music executive in a passing car suffered a bullet wound to the jaw. He has been given hospital treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

One witness says that the shooter shouted “I want to die”, leading to speculation that he was intentionally drawing the attention of police so that he would be shot dead. His home was subsequently searched in an effort to determine what factors might have led to the shooting spree.
