Former Missouri sheriff’s deputy Marvin Rice accused of allegedly shootin ex-wife and her boyfriend

A former’s sheriff’s deputy from Missouri has been accused of allegedly shooting dead his ex-wife and her boyfriend. Annette Durham, 32, of Salem, and her new boyfriend, 39-year-old Steven Strotkamp, were shot dead shortly before police began a chase that ended with former deputy Marvin Rice being shot and seriously injured in a shootout.

The final confrontation between Rice and police officers reportedly came near the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, where a Christmas party was underway for more than 500 locals. No-one else was injured as police moved in.

Marvin Rice is said to be recovering in hospital. It’s not clear how many shots were fired or where he was injured, but he is reportedly expected to make a recovery as police continue to try to work out the cause of the initial shootings.
