Campaign aims to encourage people to move domains away from GoDaddy in SOPA protest

A growing campaign is encouraging customers of Go Daddy to move their domain registrations to other companies in protest at Go Daddy’s stance on SOPA. Already, there are claims that thousands of domains have been moved to the company’s rivals.

Go Daddy is one of a number of companies being targeted by campaigners for their stance on SOPA. Some campaigners argue that in a free market economy, the best way to effect change is not through voting but through targeted initiatives to hurt companies in their wallets.

The row over SOPA is continuing and campaigners are discussing various ways of targeting companies that are perceived to be supporting the legislation. Discussions on the SOPA sub-reddit are seeking suggestions for companies that should be targeted.
