Rupert Murdoch joins Twitter!

Rupert Murdoch has apparently joined Twitter. While many initially doubted the veracity of the @RupertMurdoch account, it has now been verified by Twitter and the microblogging site’s Jack Dorsey has confirmed the news. Still, nagging questions remain: is it really, really, really him?

The Murdoch account is endearingly bare bones at the moment. Whereas many ‘celebrities’ clearly outsource the running of their Twitter accounts, Murdoch appears to be genuinely in charge of things. How else to explain the newbie’s lack of a profile picture (at the time of writing), or the rather disjointed nature of some of his tweets.

What have we learned from Murdoch on Twitter so far? Well, he’s just read The Rational Optimist, which he liked, as well as the Steve Jobs biography, which he found interesting but a little unfair. He’s tweeting pretty frequently. Is it too much to hope that we’ll get a “whoops that was supposed to be a DM” moment from RM?
