Photographer Eve Arnold, best known for portraits of stars such as Marilyn Monroe, has died at the age of 99. She would have been 100 in just three months.
Eve Arnold was a popular and successful photographer for Life magazine and a member of the Magnum photo agency. In the 60s, she moved to London, where some of her work remains to this day in the National Portrait Gallery.
Although she photographed some of the biggest celebrities of the 20th century, Arnold will forever be associated with Marilyn Monroe, having taken photos of the actress that are widely considered to be some of the most revealing and sensitive.
