Magician Paul Daniels has cut off part of two fingers in an accident while using a circular saw. The 73-year-old was apparently working on some props for his show on New Year’s Day when a block of wood slipped and his hand was knocked into the spinning blade of the saw.
Much of the damage was fixed by surgeons, but Daniels has apparently lost the top of his ring finger. He says he will have to change some of his methods when he goes out on tour next month, but that his initial fears regarding the extent of his injuries have passed.
From the description given by Daniels, it sounds as if he could have suffered a much worse injury and the loss of the top of one digit – although bad – won’t stop his magic career. News of the accident has spread fast on Twitter, becoming one of the top trending topics.
